Player Lens to launch fund raise in conjunction with Sports Investment Partners
The unique technology platform created by Player Lens to democratise the player loan and transfer system is today launching a fundraising as it looks to truly globalise the distribution of the business. Working in collaboration with Sports Investment Partners (SIP) the company is seeking 500k to supplement the funds already committed.
The business of loans and transfers in the world of football has stayed very much the same since its origins. Whilst the volume, size and globalisation of deals have transformed, the way they are conducted has remained consistent. Player LENS brings equal opportunity to all club owners, sporting directors, managers and head coaches who can shape their squads by assessing the talent made available from a global pool.
The brainchild of Lee Hemmings (MD and Founder) following his departure from the banking world he is joined by Co-Founder Jose Ramon Capdevila the former Head of Football Operations at global club heavyweight Real Madrid.
Providing an easy to use platform that enables executives in football to quickly identify opportunities to both acquire and dispose of players either on loan or on a permanent basis. The platform is pre-populated with up to date player statistics delivered via the company’s relationship with OPTA and Scout7 (part of Perform Group). Executives can use the technology on their mobile, tablet or on a desktop depending on where they are and how they like to work.
“Technology provides a wonderful way to simplify the way transactions can take place in football and we have spent a lot of time and energy travelling the world and ensuring we understand the respective needs and requirements different cultures and operating practices throw up. What we have built is a reflection of this hard work and a solution to overcome historic barriers presented by geographical, cultural and language constraints. The next stage is about helping clubs to maximise the utility we provide, which in turn provides players with so many more options to develop and progress their career.” remarked Lee Hemmings.
Jose Ramon continues; “When I first met with Lee I understood the potential of this business and am excited to have joined as a co-founder. In my previous role it became clear that there had to be a simpler way of conducting business that could both increase opportunities and decrease costs. In Player Lens I believe we have created just that.”
Speaking on behalf of SIP, Sir Martin Broughton stated; “We are delighted to be taking an active role in assisting Player Lens. Their technology brings innovation to an area of the Football business that has needed simplification and shows what fresh thinking can achieve. With over 100 clubs having engaged with Player LENS, populating 100’s of players who have been made available for loan or transfer and transactions spanning multiple countries and continents, we believe this is just the start.”
